Overview

The Site Quality Control Manager is responsible for maintaining quality control processes, analyzing the results and giving feedback and guidance to the team. They must insure and assist in determining if materials, product, and/or processes are in accordance with specifications. Ensure the staff follows the Bergelectric processes and adheres to best production practices and product quality standards. This position will work closely with the general contractor’s QC Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the management team to develop, implement and continuously improve quality-focused standards, procedures, and processes.
  • Manage team to conduct preparatory, initial, and follow-up inspections for all features of work to ensure all project requirements are met.
  • Verify all processes are conforming to established quality standards and required customer specifications.
  • Coordinate testing and supplemental testing services as needed throughout the project.
  • Update the Project Manager regarding all quality issues as well as the progress of problem resolutions.
  • Record, compile and prepare reporting for analysis and evaluation as needed.
  • Commission and retro-commission projects for quality and consistency checks.
  • Serves as a product and process resource for those working on a job site.

Qualifications

  • Must have 7+ years of experience / knowledge of electrical construction.
  • Must hold a Journeyman certification card.
  • Strong knowledge related to NEC code.
  • Minimum of seven years of experience in Low Voltage systems (Fire Alarm, Tele-Data, Security, Audio/Visual, etc.)
  • Minimum of seven years of experience with construction drawings and specifications.
  • Minimum of seven years of experience in the electrical inspection process.
  • Proven experience with use of technology used as a tool to aid in the performance of the job, i.e., cell phone, laptop, iPad, etc.
  • Excellent computer skills in a Microsoft Windows environment, i.e., Outlook, Excel, etc.
  • Excellent skills with BIM software such as Bluebeam.
  • Working knowledge of safety rules and regulations and general construction safety on job sites.
  • Interpersonal communication skills with the ability to interact with employees effectively, persuasively, and tactfully at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Is a team player – a positive, well-organized, proactive force to support profit and growth of the company.

Physical Demands

  • The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
  • Utilize ladders, man lifts or reach booms.
  • Stand for long periods of time.
  • Full squats, stoop or kneeling.

Working Environment

  • This role operates in an active construction and/or warehouse environment.
  • This role operates in a mobile environment and may use standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, etc.
  • There may be a variety of weather conditions while on jobsites such as rain, snow, heat.
  • There may be high noise levels while on jobsites.
